United Aircraft Corporation included in Rostec State Corporation has manufactured and delivered batches of the Su-30SM2 multirole fighters and Su-34 strike fighters to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation within the state defence procurement program.
The aircraft have undergone the full ground and flight factory test cycle and flown to their duty locations.
“A crew has accepted the Su-30SМ2 to achieve the targets for supply of weapons and military equipment set out by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. The Su-30SМ2 supermaneuverable multirole aircraft are among the advanced combat aircraft in the fleet of the Russian Armed Forces. I would like to express my gratitude to the factory team for their dedicated work on creating the aircraft,” said the Su-30SМ2 pilot.
The Su-30SМ2 fighters represent further development of aircraft currently used by the Russian Air Force and naval aviation. The Su-34 strike fighter is designed to engage ground (surface) and air targets and infrastructure facilities protected by air defence systems and located at considerable distances from the home airfield. The aircraft may be also used to fulfill air reconnaissance missions.
The Su-30SМ2 have high performance and outstanding maneuverability. In-depth modernization has considerably expanded the fighter capabilities. A powerful radar allows the fighter to “see” much farther than the previous version and accurately hit a wide range of ground, air and sea targets without entering the enemy air defense operations area. The Su-34 multirole strike aircraft has proved its best-in-class status long ago and steadily holds this position.
