The Superjet 95157 prototype with the Russian-made PD-8 engines has made a flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Zhukovsky. Here it will join certification testing under the import substitution program.

The aircraft is named after Viktor Subbotin, the first President of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company.

It took 8 hours to cover the route with a total distance of about 6,000 km with an intermediate stop at Novosibirsk airport.

Upon arrival at the airfield of Flight Research Institute named after M.M.Gromov, the airplane was relocated to Yakovlev’s aviation engineering center where it would proceed to a certification test program. This aircraft will be used for flight assessment of basic propulsion performance.

A large cooperation of manufacturers under the guidance of Yakovlev Company included in United Aircraft Corporation performs the Superjet import substitution program as part of Rostec State Corporation. The new Russian powerplants were created by United Engine Corporation team.
