Women’s fashion collection decorated with the “sunstone” was shown at Russian Fashion Display in Hangzhou

Kaliningrad Amber Combine has first demonstrated a women’s fashion collection decorated with amber at the Russian Fashion Display in China. A new collection with Chinese folk motifs has been created for the international show. 

The company continues actively expanding international cooperation and has created a new amber-decorated fashion line specially for the show in Hangzhou, China. Russian designers were inspired by the best highlights of ancient Chinese culture and adapted the elements of traditional patterns and symbols for creating amber ornaments. 

The new fashion collection consists of 15 sets. Approximately three kilograms of the “sunstone” have been processed to create all components of the collection shown on the catwalk in Hangzhou, China. The ancient gemstone was used as an accent on collars, cuffs and coat lapels. Amber was used to make buttons and removable accessories — belts and headwear. 

A unique evening dress was the key look of the collection. A total of 1300 amber components were used to create the dress. All parts were attached manually to fabric.

“For us, as the event organizers, it is a great honor to see among the participants the world’s only facility that produces and processes the unique gemstone. This gemstone is of particular importance in our country. Amber is believed to bring health, prosperity and honor. The amber-decorated fashion collection has been shown here for the first time, and this is a brand new proposal for Chinese fashion industry. We are committed to further development of relations and enhancement of cooperation,” said Liu Xinyi, Russian Fashion Display project Director. 

The third season of Russian Fashion Display was held on 28–29 March 2026 in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province. Designers from China and Russia participated in the event.
