Rostec’s research team has developed a ceramic manufacturing technique using domestic boron nitride raw materials. The solution will be used to create structural components that can withstand extremely high temperatures above 1,000 °С. They will be used in aircraft engineering and other sectors.

The solution provides components made from sintered boron nitride materials. As a result, the products have high strength, heat resistance at temperatures above 1,000 °С, high antifriction properties, chemical stability and high heat conductivity. The products receive the pre-defined material density and homogeneity.

Another advantage of the technique is the possibility to make products with the desired dimensions and complex shape. This is particularly important for the aerospace industry.

The solution may be used for production of heat exchangers and heat-removing elements, antifriction coatings, fire-resistant structures, semiconductor and insulator substrates. The technique will be used in the aerospace industry to create components operated at high temperatures and loads, and in the steel industry to protect products against oxidation or a resin layer in metal casting.
