It is the first time Ruselectronics holding has presented drone detection and countermeasure systems at the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2023) in Cairo. The equipment is designed to protect various short- and long-range facilities – hydropower and nuclear power plants, oil and gas pipelines, airports, sea and river ports, and facilities owned by law enforcement agencies.
Zashchita mobile system detects and counteracts drone intruders in a 360 degree azimuth sector and is capable of disabling individual segments. This is one of the key advantages due to which the system is suitable for facilities that use their own drones for monitoring.
The system includes various types of devices: passive radar system (PRS), radio monitoring (RM) equipment and Serp-VS suppression device. The feature of PRS and RM devices is that they are invisible for other radio aids, because they work in a passive mode – they have no active RF emission.
Serp-VS5 suppression system enables suppression of signals from satellites and control panel at frequencies from 900 MHz to 1.5 GHz. The manufacturer also offers an option with an extended UAV countermeasure range up to 430 MHz as a Serp-VS6 version. Work is being carried out to extend the range to 8 GHz that will improve the control channel detection functionality of the system. All systems feature a space-saving design – they are placed in several portable cases and are activated within 30 minutes.
