United Aircraft Corporation has delivered a batch of the new Su-34 strike fighters to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
The aircraft underwent a full factory test cycle, were tested in various operating conditions and flew to their home airfield.
“The Su-34 forms the basis of the Russian frontline air striking power. The combat ‘drake’ is the best aircraft in its class. It currently fulfills major missions in the special military operation zone and demonstrates high efficiency, outstanding maneuvering and fight performance. The aircraft is in high demand in the field, and our aircraft factories ramp up the output of these vehicles,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.
The Su-34 strike fighter is designed to engage ground (surface) and air targets and infrastructure facilities covered by air defence systems and situated at considerable distances from the home airfield. The aircraft can be used in counterfire and information countermeasure conditions, in day and night time in favorable and adverse weather conditions, and in any geographic theater of operations. The Su-34 uses unguided and loitering air munitions. The aircraft may be used to fulfill air reconnaissance missions.
“UAC facilities strictly observe their obligations within the state defence procurement program. Our aircraft demonstrate their advantages in real combat conditions. Output of the Su-34 frontline bomber, one of the most demanded aircraft, has more than doubled over the two years,” said Vadim Badekha, General Director of UEC.
