Begishevo Airport has Summed up the Results of Its Activity in 2017

Begishevo Airport, a wholly-owned subsidiary of KAMAZ, has summed up the results of its activity in 2017.

By November 2017, the airport had served half a million passengers from the beginning of last year. Against 2016, the passenger flow jumped by 50%. In all, Begishevo rendered services to 587,775 passengers in 2017. Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda and Nordwind Airlines carried 88% of all passengers, thus becoming the top airlines represented here.

Flights to and from Moscow are visibly called-for with their 472,445 passengers, or 80% of the total traffic registered in 2017. Antalya, Simferopol, Istanbul, Sochi and Anapa are popular destinations too. For 2017, a total of 69,328 people made international flights. All this brought Begishvo to the top 40 of Russian airports in terms of traffic volume and made it the best Russian airport with a flow up to 1 million people, by version of Russia's Air Gates award.

Last year, several investment projects were realized in order to renovate the airport infrastructure. They reconstructed the apron, taxiways, replaced light towers, built a ground for aircraft deicing, expanded the fleet of firefighting trucks, and also purchased an additional machine for deicing. Apart from this, a decision was taken in 2017 to start constructing the second terminal this year, and the terminal is expected to put the terminal into operation in 2020.
