Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies of Rosteс State Corporation has presented a prototype of the next generation navigation equipment package for helicopters. The first multifunctional central control panel similar to the systems provided for the next generation МС-21 и SSJ New planes now has been developed for helicopters. The innovative product will make it possible to reduce the number of consoles in the helicopter cockpit and will facilitate the crew performance. KRET’s multifunctional console provides all necessary flight and navigational data for the crew and downloads, stores and updates databases containing all flight data – aeronautical, topographic and user data – as well as online and technical documentation.
The new navigation equipment package has been developed by the Ulyanovsk Instrumentation Design Bureau (as part of KRET). The multifunctional console includes: IM-16M-4NL multifunctional display, BFNI-1 navigational data generation unit and PT-3 trackball.
The product enables both alphanumeric data input and operation of several interfacing devices. A trackball or multi-position thumbstick and an additional multi-position control knob are used as controls.
