The Ufa Aggregate Production Association of the Technodinamika Holding of Rostec State Corporation has manufactured a prototype emergency synchronous generator for the MC-21 airliner power supply system.

A synchronous generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy using a special screw that can rotate up to 14 thousand times per minute. The new generator is used as part of the turbine and is designed to operate in the event an emergency in the main system. The development characteristics are fully consistent with the technical specifications, and the maximum power reaches 23 kVA. By optimizing the design, the GSR-10TNU generator can also be used as part of an emergency wind turbine for MC-21 and SSJ-New airliners.

“The new generator was created within the framework of the programs for import substitution of equipment for the MC-21 and SSJ-New aircraft. The development has the leading characteristics among domestic products in its class. To date, we have already manufactured two prototypes and have successfully completed preliminary tests", said Igor Nasenkov, General Director of the Technodinamika holding.
