RT-Project Technologies (included in Rostec) has first presented a complex counter-UAS system for infrastructure facilities. The Pautina consists of modular steel structures whose standard configuration can withstand a direct hit of a drone up to 200 kg in weight. The solution provides effective protection of such objects as oil storage tanks, power substations, etc. The presentation took place during Rostec’s regional mission in the Tver region.

“The comprehensive counter-UAS system includes a continuous reliable network erected around a facility to “catch” drones. The system in its standard configuration can stop a 200 kg drone flying at a speed of 200 km/hour. Moreover, the Pautina protection can be significantly enhanced without any additional developments. The solution is designed to protect oil storage tanks, fuel terminals, power substations, warehouses and other objects against most long-range enemy drones. Together with other Rostec’s counter-drone solutions, including electronic countermeasure systems and kinetic threats protection, the system provides high-assurance security of critical civilian infrastructure,” said Aleksandr Nazarov, Deputy General Director of Rostec.

The Pautina can protect facilities higher than 25 meters and of any area. The product currently undergoes a trial run at some fuel and energy facilities. The protection consists of carrying columns, power network and supports. The structure uses only bolt connections and doesn’t require welding and, thus, erection can be conducted in confined space and increased fire hazard conditions. This reduces expenditures, increases erection rate and safety.
