Ruselectronics holding has completed the development of traveling-wave tubes consisting of domestic components for the Express-AMU4 communications spacecraft. These products are an integral part of microwave signal power amplifiers. The new satellite to be launched at the end of 2026 will provide communication services in Latin America, Africa and Middle East.
Traveling-wave tubes (TWT) are one of the key components of all communications spacecraft. Devices that use the traveling-wave tubes are able to amplify the microwave signal power in on-board radio transmitting equipment of satellites. For the Express-AMU4, four types of TWT have been developed: two Ku-band and two C-band TWTs. The devices don’t contain any foreign components and are manufactures using only domestic production process that employs know-how and is the intellectual property of Russia.
“New TWTs compare well with the best foreign products in terms of technology and performance. Due to their specifications, the devices can be used in radio transmission paths of various spacecraft such as Earth remote sensing, weather, global environmental monitoring, navigation and research satellites,” said Ruselectronics’ representatives.
