United Engine Corporation will demonstrate the fifth generation 177S engine for tactical airplanes and the VK-650V engine for light helicopters. The aircraft engines will be first displayed at the Aero India airshow.

UEC’s stand will show a full-scale mockup of the latest 177S engine for tactical airplanes. Design solutions implemented in the new engine provide much higher thrust with the same dimensions as those of the baseline AL-31FP operated in India and localized at HAL’s facilities. The 177S’s service life is 6,000 hours. The engine thrust may be additionally increased when the life requirement is reduced. The 177S features lower fuel consumption in all operating conditions to ensure lower operational costs.

At Aero India, UEC will demonstrate the VK-650V engine that has been type certified in Russia and is ready for commercial production. The propulsion unit is designed for the Russian Ansat and Ka-226T helicopters. The engine design is also suitable for other helicopters and future aircraft.

In addition, UEC will showcase the AL-55E that is used for trainers. It was developed by UEC specifically for the Indian HJT-36 trainer. The propulsion unit has several advantages, including, but not limited to, its modular design that provides high performance and lower operational costs.
