Kalashnikov Embark on Izhevsk Mechanical Factory Investment Program

Kalashnikov Group Director General Alexey Krivoruchko, Republic of Udmurtia head Alexander Brechalov and Izhevsk Mechanical Factory Head Manager Alexander Gvozdik took part in the opening ceremony of a new wood processing facility. The latter is the first completed project within the Izhevsk Mechanical Factory Investment Program. The total amount of investments is exceeding 1 Billion Rubles.

“We have embarked on an active stage of Izhevsk Mechanical Factory technical and technological re-equipment program. The total amount of 5 Billion Rubles are supposed to be invested in re-equipment of the factory in 2018. The technical and technological re-equipment program is expected to be completed in 2019”, - Kalashnikov Group Director General Alexey Krivoruchko commented.

“The newly equipped wood processing department will facilitate the production of butt straps, fore-ends and other wooden parts for sports and hunting weapons in accordance with world manufacturing standards at significantly lower operating costs. We are already planning to increase sales revenues of our basic model weapons due to increased sales volume and new products development. New designs and modifications are awaiting such Izhevsk Mechanical Factory products as МR18, МR18МН, МR27, МR46, Siberian Stag, Bear, Sable and other models”, - Izhevsk Mechanical Factory Head Manager Alexander Gvozdik commented.

Izhevsk Mechanical Factory is one of Russia’s largest multiproduct manufacturers. Its product range includes specialized machinery, civil and duty weapons, microelectronics, medical equipment, steel founding and different types of consumer goods. The company revenue in 2017 exceeded 5.6 Billion Rubles with net profit of over 131 Million Rubles.
