Rostec has Developed Remote Control Modules for Tank Machine Guns

“Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies has designed and manufactured remote control platforms for PKT tank machine gun. High resolution video cameras installed on the module enable the operator to track and hit the target accurately while staying at a distance up to one kilometer. Four such devices have been already fielded in the special operation zone, another five are to be delivered before the end of the year.

Having a futuristic appearance, the machine gun remote control platform has been designed and manufactured this year by Signal plant in Stavropol on direct request from soldiers in the special military operation zone. The whole work process – from the date of receipt of the terms of reference to manufacturing of the first product – took only two months. Future operators were directly involved in the development process.

The platform is furnished with Full HD video camera with dual-axis stabilization and 30x zoom. To operate the module, the operator uses a terminal consisting of LCD and joystick. The control terminal is also available in the form of a case.

“The PKT control module allows the operator to track the target in real time and to use point shooting at a distance from 50m to 1100m. Moreover, the product may be equipped with add-on thermal imaging module and night vision device. The platform not only has been tested on proving grounds, but has also undergone real battle testing,” said Andrey Kocherga, General Director of PJSC Signal.
