Rostec’s aircraft companies – UAC and Russian Helicopters – have signed contracts for production of civil airliners and helicopters that will be supplied to operators through leasing companies.   Before the end of 2025, Aeroflot will receive 63 airliners, including the latest MC-21s and SSJ-NEWs. Another 8 import-substituted Superjets are to be manufactured for Aurora airline in 2024-2026. In addition, 107 helicopters will be delivered to the airlines within three years.

Investment projects involve aircraft manufacturing and leasing on preferential terms, they will be co-financed by the National Wealth Fund at a capped rate of 1.5% per annum.

“A major challenge has been imposed on the Russian aircraft industry – to begin production and provide airlines with modern airliners and helicopters. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a lot of work has been done together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and other relevant agencies. To achieve the set targets as soon as possible, the main import substitution efforts have been shifted “to the left” in order to start providing the Russian airlines with domestically-built aircraft instead of Boeings and Airbuses at the earliest possible time. The signed contracts will enable the large-scale aircraft production to be launched, and the appropriate efforts have been already started at UAC, Russian Helicopters facilities and other companies involved in the cooperation,” said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rosteс State Corporation.
