Rostec to Deliver 800,000 Measles Vaccine Doses to the Russian Regions

Nacimbio holding is going to deliver measles vaccine for clean-up immunization in Russia – vaccination of people who were not vaccinated and affected by measles before as well as those who are not aware of their vaccination status. The clean-up immunization is carried out on the instruction of Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare) with the first batch of vaccines to be delivered to medical facilities in April.

The campaign is carried out in order to develop herd immunity and, thus, to prevent the spread of disease. The national measles vaccination will start on the 3rd of April and last till the end of 2023.

“Nacimbio holding is to deliver 800,000 monocomponent measles vaccine doses made by NPO Microgen to regions before the end of the year. The deliveries will be provided on requests from regions. Additional 4,000,000 vaccine doses containing the measles component will be delivered to regions during 2023 for planned immunization in accordance with the National Immunization Schedule. Please note that 372,000 doses from this amount have been already delivered to regional medical facilities in February ahead of the schedule,” said Oleg Evtushenko, Rostec’s Executive Director.

In addition to the measles vaccine, Nacimbio is ready to produce and deliver, taking into account the production lead time, an additional amount of vaccines for clean-up immunization against diphtheria that are also covered by Rospotrebnadzor’s instructions. The agency has also emphasized the need for immunization of at least 95% of population. Now, immunoprophylaxis against the disease is carried out as a standard procedure in accordance with the National Immunization Schedule.
