UAC has Made and Delivered Another Il-76MD-90A Airlifter to the Ministry of Defence

Aviastar as part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has made and delivered another mass-produced Il-76MD-90A strategic airlifter. 

“We provide regular aircraft supply to the Ministry of Defence. Batches of Su-30SM2 and Su-35S fighters, Su-34 frontline bombers and Yak-130 combat trainers have been already handed over to the military this year, and another mass-produced Il-76MD-90A airlifter has entered service today. This aircraft is an in-depth development of the iconic Soviet Il-76. It is provided with a new engine, advanced wing, ‘glass cockpit’ and increased flight range and capacity. This is actually a new aircraft that meets all current requirements and will be the basis of Russian transport aviation. We consistently increase the output of this aircraft for Russian defence department, and the next airlifter is at high degree of completeness,” said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rosteс State Corporation. 

“Delivery of new airlifters is our contribution to strengthening of the military capabilities of our country. Another Il-76MD-90A is on the continuous assembly line today. Production reserve for the next year is already being produced at the plant. Several airplanes in various degree of completion are now on the shop floor,” said Yury Slyusar, General Director of UAC. 

Il-76MD-90A consists of Russian-made components. The new aircraft has improved specifications: increased flight range and payload, navigation and airdrop accuracy, and radio communication quality.
