Kalashnikov Concern has first demonstrated the 40×46mm GP-46 underbarrel grenade launcher at the ADEX 2024 International Defence Exhibition held on 24-26 September in Baku.

The product is designed to engage the enemy personnel in the field, trenches and soft-skinned vehicles. The grenade launcher can be attached to the Kalashnikov assault rifle or to a module — a special movable stock allowing it to be used as an individual gun. The product can be used for flat-trajectory or high-trajectory firing. The grenade launcher mounted on the AK does not prevent from using the assault rifle. Reloading is performed by turning the GP-46 barrel to the left or to the right.

The grenade launcher may be used for direct laying firing at a distance up to 400m, point and area-type target firing, shoulder firing and firing from enclosure. The GP-46 is designed for NATO standard munitions.
