Ruselectronics holding has developed Russia’s first online tachograph using domestic electronic components. The instrument monitors driving and rest periods, and speed limit adherence by drivers of commercial freight and passenger vehicles. It also automatically transmits the collected information in real time to the Tachograph Monitoring servers.

The new tachograph has been developed by Kalugapribor and includes a navigation cryptographic module made by Avtomatika Concern. The device is fitted to a vehicle and automatically gathers information about speed limit adherence by the driver as well as about driving and rest periods. Moreover, it signs the recorded data with the driver’s certified digital signature and transmits it in an encrypted immutable format via a cellular channel. The instrument may be additionally fitted with modules for online monitoring of driving parameters and vehicle location.

The device features user-friendly setting. It does not need a computer or any other special devices for calibration and programming. All necessary activities may be performed using a smartphone or tablet via a wireless communication channel.

“We are planning to start batch production of the tachographs next year. I’m sure that our solution will be able to take its rightful place in the market,” said Evgeny Zolotnitsky, General Director of Kalugapribor.
