Rostec’s Rosel holding has launched commercial production of rugged computers. The product is used by law enforcement agencies and various industries — manufacturing facilities with extreme operating conditions and in power industry. The products have successfully undergone the tests, including in a combat operations area and arctic regions.
The product line consists of laptops, panel and tablet PCs. The devices are designed for workplace automation. They may be used both independently and as part of local networks in fixed and mobile systems. The products are already delivered to Rosel companies.
Each product undergoes rigorous testing, including heavy-duty climatic and mechanical tests. The hardware has demonstrated its ability to operate at temperatures from −40℃ to +70 ℃. The computers also feature high durability — they withstand impacts up to 75g, which is comparable with head-on collision of cars at 50-60 km/h. Operational reliability of the products has been validated in a combat operation zone and Far North regions.
“Our new computers use a domestically made hardware and software platform. It contains a Russian BIOS and trusted boot module. The product aims to strengthen Russia’s technological sovereignty in the rugged electronics field and will help substitute foreign counterparts. We currently take scaling-up efforts to further increase the competitiveness of our quotation,” said Rosel’s representatives.
