The Russian solution leaves similar foreign products far behind in terms of energy characteristics

Ruselectronics holding has developed high-energy igniters suitable for mining, road engineering, automotive applications as well as for microsatellite orbit trimming. The products are used to replace similar foreign solutions. Due to the use of know-how, the new devices have higher energy characteristics.

The new power igniters use the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) effect.

The presence of special SHS power film produced using a proprietary technique is the key feature of the products. This film reduces the pyrotechnic charge ignition requirements due to a large contact area between the film and charge. This increases the ignition area by dozens of times compared with traditional igniters and significantly improves power output: the film is immediately heated up to 1300 °С to ensure reliable pyrotechnic charge ignition.

In mining, igniters actuate pyrotechnic chargers during extraction of mineral deposits. In automotive industry, they are used to actuate gas generators that inflate airbags, and in seat belt pre-tensioners and emergency battery deactivator to avoid short circuit in case of a car accident. In microsatellites, such devices are necessary for electric actuation of a pyrotechnic composition to induce power gas discharge in orbit trimming systems.
