Concern Kalashnikov, a member of the Rostec State Corporation, has completed construction and commissioned a new building of the Design Engineering Centre (DEC) with a total floor area of 20 thousand sq. m. Sergey Chemezov, Head of the State Corporation, made the first symbolic shot of the SVCh sniper rifle at the firing range.
"Over the last years we have been continuously reforming the production processes and optimizing the buildings layout. An important component of such reforms is construction of modern and advanced spaces", commented Alexey Krivoruchko, General Director of Concern Kalashnikov.
According to him, the new DEC will perform digital design of developments for commercial production. Even as we speak the 3D-models design assignment are being issued in electronic form to be further approved as original design documentation.
DEC is equipped with advanced FDM-printers for three-dimensional model building. High-impact plastic is used as the basic material capable of withstanding the loads during the tests of rifles made of these parts. The working area dimensions allow to build parts several millimetres to almost one metre long without any restrictions as to the shape of components.
