Manufacture of Kalashnikov assault rifles was started by Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited – a joint venture between Russia and India registered and located in India whose founders on the Russian side are Rosoboronexport and Kalashnikov Concern.

“Russia and India are linked with strong partnership relations. Construction of Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited joint venture facility was one of the important outcomes of the military and technical cooperation between the two countries. With the launch of production of Kalashnikov AK-203, high quality, easy-to-use and modern small arms will be fielded in India’s law enforcement agencies. The model combines excellent ergonomics, adaptability and high performance and is one the best assault rifles in the world,” said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rosteс State Corporation.

The joint venture targets 100% local production of the AK-203s in India.

Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited completely follows the Make in India initiative and DAP-2020. As of today, India is the first country to start manufacturing world-renowned Kalashnikov Series 200 assault rifles.

Series 200 assault rifles retained all advantages of the traditional AK configuration: reliability, durability and easy maintenance. Moreover, they fully meet the latest requirements for small arms in terms of ergonomics and applicability of hi-tech accessories.
