Rostec has Improved Machine Utilization by 40% Due to Digitalization

United Engine Corporation has connected more than one thousand machines at Salyut manufacturing facility in Moscow to an advanced monitoring system. Tis allowed to improve equipment utilization by 40% and reduce downtime. Before the end of the year, introduction of Dispatcher system will be started at all UEC facilities.

Zyfra’s monitoring system allows to assess the current equipment utilization and analyze the downtime causes for any time period – from a day to several months. This data helps to make decisions on process flow bottlenecks and rational use of the equipment.

“Modern high-tech manufacturing such as engine building is hardly imaginable without digital technology. This is particularly so with efficient control of manufacturing equipment. The monitoring system introduced at UEC drastically increases production facility capacity and provides a complete view of what is going on at the manufacturing site. This is possible, in particular, due to the fact that not only CNC machines, but also other equipment and assembly team work places are connected to the Dispatcher. Now we can discuss the first results of the system introduction: due to the monitoring system, the company has reduced unscheduled equipment downtime by 12% and increased the equipment utilization ratio by 40%,” said Vyacheslav Khirstolyubov, Director of Digital Transformation, UEC.

Data acquired by the system from 14 shops is analyzed and available in real time for all personnel involved in the manufacturing process, from foremen to the chief executive officer.
