United Engine Corporation has made the first commercial GTD-110M gas turbine. The turbine has been successfully tested at Ivanovskie CCPP and will be delivered to Udarnaya HPP in Krasnodar Krai. Two such power units are expected to be produced annually beginning from 2024.

The gas turbine has been made by UEC-Saturn in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region. The engine was manufactured within the scheduled period in 2022 under the contract between UEC-High-Power Turbines and Technopromexport – Udarnaya HPP project contractor.

“This is the first domestically made high-power turbine that has been embodied “in steel” and reached the commercial production phase.   It is primarily designed for the domestic market and is meant to replace foreign turbines that are not supplied to Russia due to sanctions. The power generation sector needs are estimated at several dozens of such power units. The first commercial turbine is to be delivered to Udarnaya HPP in Krasnodar Krai. This will help to reduce energy shortage in the region and increase the power grid reliability in the South of Russia. We are planning to manufacture at least two such turbines annually beginning from 2024 and to further ramp up the output,” said Vladimir Artiakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.

GTD-110M high-power turbines will provide the basis for generating companies’ heat power plant and district power plant modernization program. After-sales service of the power units will be provided by UEC-High-Power Turbines (as part of Rostec’s United Engine Corporation).
