United Engine Corporation will supply four GPA-16 gas compressor units with a total power of 64MW to the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. The system is designed to increase the capacity of the Kovykta-Chayanda gas pipeline section in the Irkutsk Region.

The supply agreement has been signed between UEC-Engineering and Gazprom Komplektatsiya. Completion of manufacturing and shipment are planned for the end of 2023.

“Rostec provides gas compressor systems to all strategic gas transfer projects in Russia. Reliable and high-performance GPA-16 units involve the latest technologies and fully meet Gazprom’s high standards for this class of equipment. Today, more than ninety GPA-16 gas turbine units are used all over Russia, including the Power of Siberia gas pipeline and the Bovanenkovo oil and gas condensate field on the Yamal,” said Vladimir Artyakov, First Deputy General Director of Rostec.

GPA-16 units are designed for industrial gas processing and compression at compressor stations. They are based on PS-90GP2 industrial gas turbine engines (manufacturer – UEC-Perm Engines) and have been manufactured by Rybinsk-based UEC-Gas Turbines since 2011.

The Power of Siberia is the Russian gas pipeline. Currently, the pipeline transports natural gas from the Chayanda field to Russian users in the Far East as well as to China. The gas pipeline length is about 3,000km.
