Kalashnikov’s design-engineering team developed a new product on the request of law enforcement agencies in 2024 — a shooting rest for small arms used to kill enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The shooting rest has been tested in the special military operation zone and positively received by soldiers.

The shooting rest is designed to mount a gun in order to kill small-size UAV at a distance of up to 300 meters and unsheltered enemy personnel at a distance of up to 1,000 meters.

The product consists of a folding height-adjustable telescopic tripod with a sliding upper mount installed on it. Depending on the sliding mount version, the shooting rest is used to install one or two Kalashnikov machine guns, Degtyaryov machine gun or AK type assault rifles. The weight of the shooting rest varies from 15 kg to 38 kg depending on the version, there is an open mechanical sight and a provision is made for installation of optical-electronic sights.

Testing in the special military operation zone has shown that Kalashnikov’s shooting rest fully meets the antidrone requirements to counter enemy drones using small arms.
